The government of India has recently appointed several senior and eminent officials from the Indian Administrative Services (IAS) as Secretaries and Special Secretaries at the centre.
The senior IAS officers are:
- Mr. Chandra Sekhar Kumar, a 1992-batch Odisha cadre IAS officer, last posted as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, has been appointed Special Secretary in the Ministry of Panchayati Raj (in the rank and pay of Secretary).
- Mr. Anurag Agarwal, a 1990-batch Punjab cadre IAS officer, last posted as Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor in the Ministry of External Affairs, has been appointed as Special Secretary & Financial Advisor in the Ministry of External Affairs (in the rank and pay of Secretary).
- Ms. Punya Salila Srivastava, a 1993-batch AGMUT cadre IAS officer, last posted as Additional Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), has been appointed as Special Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office (in the rank and pay of Secretary).
- Mr. Devesh Chaturvedi, a 1989-batch Uttar Pradesh cadre IAS officer, has been appointed Secretary in the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare.
