New Delhi: The Board of Directors of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has announced the appointment of Shiv Tapasya Paswan and Rohit Vaswani as Non-Official Independent Directors on the company’s Board. Their appointment is effective from April 16, 2025, for a term of one year, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Tapasya Paswan, born in 1969 in Chandauli, Uttar Pradesh, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Vidyapeeth. He has been actively involved in social service, focusing on the upliftment of weaker and marginalised sections of society. With vast experience in the social welfare sector, Paswan brings a community-centric perspective to the Board.
Rohit Vaswani, a highly qualified professional, is a practising Chartered Accountant and Cost & Management Accountant, holding degrees in Commerce and Law, along with a Master’s in Law.
He has also completed a Diploma in Information System Audit (DISA) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Vaswani is a Certificate of Merit recipient from the Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India and brings a strong financial and regulatory acumen to the Board.
The appointment of these two distinguished professionals is expected to enhance governance and diversify expertise at POWERGRID, one of India’s largest power transmission companies.
