New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) is all set to conduct the selection interviews for the prestigious position of Director (Projects) at SJVN Limited on Monday, January 19. Twelve shortlisted candidates, drawn from various public sector undertakings (PSUs) and engineering backgrounds, will compete for the leadership role at this Schedule ‘A’ power company.

Leadership Gap at SJVN

The Director (Projects) post has been vacant since August 1, 2025, creating a critical leadership gap in the Ministry of Power-controlled PSU. The vacancy was officially advertised on September 29, 2025, and after a rigorous screening process, the final stage of interviews is now being held. The appointment is expected to bring stability and fresh strategic direction to the company.

Mandate for the Incoming Director

The new Director (Projects) will inherit a significant mandate as SJVN navigates a major transition from a hydro-focused entity to a diversified renewable energy company. The firm aims to expand its capacity to 50,000 MW by 2040, marking an ambitious growth trajectory in hydropower, solar, and other renewable energy sectors. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in project execution, strategic planning, and ensuring timely delivery of key initiatives.

Competitive Selection Process

The PESB selection process ensures transparency and merit-based appointments for PSUs. Candidates have been evaluated on their experience in project management, engineering expertise, leadership abilities, and capability to drive large-scale energy projects. This rigorous assessment aims to identify a professional capable of steering SJVN through its transformative phase while meeting national renewable energy targets.
