SJVN Limited, through its wholly owned subsidiary SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), has achieved commercial operation date (COD) for an additional 78.23 MW at its flagship 1000 MW Bikaner Solar Power Project in Rajasthan. This follows the earlier commissioning of 241.77 MW (Phase-1) on April 2, 2025.
With this latest milestone, the project’s cumulative operational capacity has crossed 320 MW, with full commissioning expected by Q3 2025.
The project is being developed under the CPSU Scheme – Phase II, Tranche III by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and adheres to Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) norms, promoting the Make in India initiative.
Once fully operational, power from the 1000 MW project will be supplied to Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir, and Uttarakhand, supporting regional energy security and national renewable goals. The project also contributes to India’s target of 500 GW non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030 and aligns with SJVN’s vision of becoming a 25,000 MW company by 2030, scaling up to 50,000 MW by 2040.
