New Delhi: KPI Green Energy Limited has announced a major milestone by signing contract agreements with SJVN Limited, a Government of India enterprise, for the execution of a 200 MW (AC) Solar Power Project at the GIPCL Renewable Energy Park in Khavda, Gujarat. This development marks a significant step forward in KPI Green’s growing portfolio of utility-scale renewable energy projects, reinforcing its position as a key player in the Indian solar power sector.
A Strategic Partnership for India’s Clean Energy Future
The contract, valued at Rs 696.50 crore (excluding GST), establishes KPI Green as a trusted EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) partner for large-scale renewable energy projects. This achievement highlights the growing confidence of government entities in KPI Green’s capability to execute complex and high-value projects. The collaboration with SJVN Limited, one of India’s leading public sector energy companies, underscores the strategic importance of this project in India’s renewable energy transition.
The Khavda Renewable Energy Park, located in Gujarat, is set to become one of the world’s largest renewable energy installations. It is a high-priority development zone in India’s efforts to meet its renewable energy targets and contribute to the nation’s clean energy goals.

Key Project Scope & Highlights
Under the executed agreements, KPI Green will be responsible for the following key components of the 200 MW solar project:
- Supply of Equipment: KPI Green will supply all the necessary plant and equipment required for the solar power project, ensuring that the materials meet the approved specifications and quality assurance standards.
- EPC Services: The company will oversee all aspects of erection, installation, and construction, including civil, architectural, and structural works on-site. This comprehensive scope ensures smooth project execution from start to finish.
- Logistics and Handling: KPI Green will handle the unloading, storage, and insurance coverage for the equipment and plant supplied, maintaining strict safety protocols and logistics management.
- Testing and Commissioning: KPI Green will be responsible for testing, commissioning, and performance demonstration of the project. The company will ensure operational acceptance as per the contractual requirements.
- O&M Services: KPI Green will provide comprehensive Operation & Maintenance (O&M) services for three years after the Commercial Operations Date (COD), including the provision of O&M spares and consumables to ensure long-term project performance.
The project is being executed through three separate contracts: the Supply Contract, EPC Contract, and O&M Contract, collectively ensuring KPI Green’s turnkey responsibility for the project’s construction and operational phase.
KPI Green’s Expanding Footprint in the Renewable Energy Sector
This project significantly boosts KPI Green’s presence in Khavda, which is poised to become one of India’s most important renewable energy hubs. With this new 200 MW solar project, KPI Green’s total footprint in Khavda will exceed 845 MWp (DC), further solidifying its position as a leading EPC service provider in one of the most strategically important renewable corridors in India.
The Khavda Renewable Energy Park is expected to become the largest renewable energy installation in the world, making it a critical part of India’s vision to achieve a 500 GW renewable energy target by 2030.
