SJVN Successfully Concludes 24th Inter-CPSU Cricket Tournament in Chandigarh

The 24th Inter-CPSU Cricket Tournament, organized by SJVN under the aegis of the Power Sports Control Board, concluded successfully in Chandigarh. The tournament, held from February 22 to February 27, 2025, witnessed the participation of thirteen teams representing various Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSUs) under the Ministry of Power (MoP).

SJVN Limited’s Director (Personnel), Ajay Kumar Sharma, presided over the closing ceremony and presented trophies, medals, and certificates to the winning teams. In his address, Sharma emphasized the importance of such sporting events in enhancing athletic skills, fostering camaraderie among participants, and encouraging professional networking. He congratulated the winners and commended all teams for displaying exemplary sportsmanship. Additionally, he acknowledged the dedicated efforts of Team SJVN in ensuring the successful organization of the event.

The tournament’s final match was scheduled to be played between POWERGRID and NHPC. However, due to inclement weather, the match was called off, and both teams were declared joint winners. Several individual accolades were also presented during the ceremony. Jason J. Lamare from NEEPCO received the Best Batsman of the Tournament award, Abhishek Yadav from NHPC secured the Best Bowler of the Tournament title, and Sandeep Malhotra from Grid Controller of India was named Player of the Tournament. The second runners-up position was claimed by Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC).

Enthusiastic participation was seen from teams representing the Central Electricity Authority (CEA), Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB), Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), DVC, Grid Controller of India, NEEPCO, NHPC, Power Finance Corporation (PFC), Power Grid Corporation of India, Rural Electrification Corporation (REC), THDC India, and SJVN.
