IAS officer Subhas Chandra Lal Das has joined the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) as its new Secretary. He has replaced BB Swain, who was appointed as the Secretary in the MSME ministry in January 2021. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), Department of Personnel and Training under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions approved his appointment. He is a 1992-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre.
Earlier, he served as the Director General of Hydrocarbons, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, since December 2019, and was also the Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs. Mr. Das is an M.Phil in Public Management and B.Sc. in Statistics.
