In a ceremony marked by precision, pride and the stirring notes of the regimental band, the Border Security Force celebrated excellence as its newest officers marched into service with distinction and honour. The Passing Out Parade became a moment of inspiration as the best among the batch were recognised for their exceptional performance and leadership qualities.
Director General, BSF, Praveen Kumar, IPS, conferred the coveted Sword of Honour upon Shri Sunil Kumar, Assistant Commandant, declaring him the outstanding officer of the batch. The award is regarded as the highest honour for a trainee officer and symbolises all-round excellence, discipline and commitment to duty.
A Moment of Glory and Leadership
Mr. Sunil Kumar earned the Sword of Honour for his exemplary overall performance across all parameters — including physical endurance tests, written examinations, firing proficiency and rigorous outdoor exercises. His consistent excellence throughout the training period reflected not only personal dedication but also the spirit of leadership expected from an officer of the Force.
In addition to the Sword of Honour, Sunil Kumar was also awarded the A.S. Aulakh Medal and Running Trophy for being the All-Round Best Trainee of the batch. The recognition further underscored his exceptional balance of academic strength, field skills and command presence.
Meanwhile, the Director’s Baton — awarded for commanding the Passing Out Parade with immaculate precision — was presented to Dheeraj Singh Madnawat, Assistant Commandant. His flawless leadership and parade command demonstrated confidence, composure and exemplary drill standards.
