In this present time when the whole world is facing major issues due to climate change, saving wildlife for the coming future has become an essential element for the present generation.
National Wildlife Day, which was first observed in 2005 and is celebrated every year on 4 September, has a similar significance. The main aim behind observing this day is to spread the cause of wildlife conservation and celebrate our planet’s animals.
NWD encourages wildlife lovers to stand up and fight for the animals that need a voice. A major role in our country is made by the Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers who create awareness and take proactive steps in preserving and conserving wildlife.
Colleen Paige was the one who first time celebrated “National Wildlife Day” in the honor of late wildlife conservationist Steve Irwin (Famed Crocodile Hunter). The Theme for the National Wildlife Day 2021 has been designated as “Forests and Livelihoods: Sustaining People and Planet”.
