Telangana: Govt. Reshuffles IAS Officers, Assigns New Roles and Responsibilities

The government recently announced a reshuffling of several IAS officers in Telangana, which includes both transfers and the assignment of additional responsibilities.

Aisha Masarat Khanam, who served as the Secretary of the Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society, has been asked to report to the General Administration Department (GAD). In her place, Tafseer Iqubal, currently the Special Secretary of Minorities Welfare, has been assigned the additional role of Secretary for the Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society. Iqubal will also continue his duties as the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of ISW.

Meanwhile, K Surendra Mohan, the Secretary of the Mines and Geology Department, has been given the full additional charge of Director of Mines and Geology following the retirement of BV Susheel Kumar.

In other changes, T Vinay Krishna Reddy, Joint Secretary of the Health, Medical, and Family Welfare Department, has been assigned the additional role of Commissioner for Land Acquisition and Rehabilitation & Resettlement (R&R). Sk Yasmeen Basha, currently Director of Horticulture and Sericulture, will now also serve as the Director of Minorities Welfare.

A Nirmala Kanthi Wesley, the Director of Women, Children, Disabled, and Senior Citizens Welfare, has taken over as Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the Telangana Minorities Finance Corporation, replacing Aisha Masarat Khanam.

Additionally, P Srija has been transferred from her role as Additional Collector (Local Bodies) in Mulugu to the same position in Khammam. Md Asadullah, a Special Grade Deputy Collector with HMDA, is now placed at the disposal of the Minorities Welfare Department to be appointed as CEO of the Waqf Board, filling the current vacancy. Furthermore, G Malsur, Director of Industries, has been assigned the additional role of Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the Telangana Mineral Development Corporation.
