Indian Police Service (IPS) probationers of the 77th Regular Recruit (RR) batch, assigned to the Telangana cadre, called on Governor Jishnu Dev Varma at Raj Bhavan, Hyderabad, on Saturday. The interaction provided an opportunity for the young officers to engage with the state’s constitutional head and gain insights into their future responsibilities in law enforcement.
The probationers, who are currently undergoing rigorous training at the Telangana State Police Academy (TGPA), were accompanied by Abhilasha Bisht, Director General of TGPA. During the visit, she briefed the Governor on the comprehensive training curriculum, which includes classroom instruction, field exposure modules, and practical policing exercises aimed at preparing the officers for the challenges of modern law enforcement.
Governor Varma, in his address, highlighted the crucial role IPS officers play in upholding constitutional values, ensuring public safety, and strengthening democratic institutions. He emphasised that these young officers are the frontline defenders of law and order and carry the responsibility of maintaining citizens’ trust in the police force.
The probationers expressed their commitment to serving the people of Telangana with integrity, professionalism, and dedication. The visit also provided a platform for the officers to discuss the evolving challenges in policing, including community engagement, crime prevention, and public safety strategies.
