On Friday , the Ratnagiri forest depravity along with the local crime branch arrested three men. They were allegedly trading walrus trucks at Hatkhamba, in Ratnagiri district. The forest department has seized the truck .
Walrus is a large marine mammal found in the North pole region . Priyanka Lagad , the range forest officer said, ” we have arrested three people ,seized two walrus trucks which we found from the suspects ” by receiving an information from our sources about possible illegal trade of marine animals and hence have laid the trap with the help of the local police. The suspects are charged under Wildlife Protection Act , 1972 , she adds.
The suspects are hence identified as Suresh Kandar , Muhammad Numan Yasin , Rajan Dayal and have been arrested from Hathkhamba village of the district on the Mumbai – Goa National Highway.
The whole action was taken under Clement Ben , the chief conservator of the forest Kolhapur , Ratnagiri Police Superintendent Mohit Kumar Garg , District officer Deepak Khade , Assistant conservator Sachin Nilalkh. Police Inspector Hemanth Kumar Shah , the lagad and other fort guards rangers , constables with the help of wildlife crime control .
