Ms. V Vidyavathi (1991-batch Karnataka cadre IAS officer), who is the Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism, will inaugurate the HR Summit on Education and Career in Hospitality that shall be hosted by the Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI), on November 14, 2024, at Hotel Le Meridien, New Delhi.
The summit aims to address key challenges in the hospitality sector, such as the shortage of skilled professionals, declining enrolments in hospitality programs, and high employee turnover.
Mr. Pradeep Shetty, Vice President of FHRAI, emphasized the industry’s growth potential and the urgent need to tackle these issues. “This summit is crucial for bridging the skills gap, boosting enrolments, and reducing attrition, ensuring the sector remains competitive and future-ready,” he said.
Key sessions will cover career opportunities in hospitality, factors behind low enrolment, and human resource management strategies. The event aims to foster collaboration between industry, academia, and government to develop actionable solutions for a sustainable talent pipeline.
