In a significant move aimed at streamlining the state’s law enforcement structure, the Government of Tripura has announced the transfer of eleven senior IPS and TPS officers.

The order, issued on Monday by the General Administration (Personnel & Training) Department, comes into immediate effect and is described as being in the best interest of public service.

As per the detailed notification, the reshuffle spans various districts and positions, reflecting the government’s continuous effort to optimize police services across the state. Among the notable transfers:

Avinash Rai, an IPS officer of 2019 batch, has been shifted from his position as the Superintendent of Police (SP) in Dhalai to the same role in the North District, taking over critical responsibilities in one of the state’s busiest administrative regions.

2014 batch IPS officer Bhanupada Chakraborty, previously the SP of North District, has now been reassigned to the Police Headquarters (PHQ) in Agartala. This move underscores the need for experienced officers in centralized positions, where they can coordinate broader security efforts.

Mihir Lal Das, TPS Gr–I, who was serving as the SP in charge of Cyber Crime, has been moved to Dhalai as the new SP, where he will be responsible for overseeing law and order in a district known for its administrative challenges.

Ashish Kumar Thakur, 2022 batch IPS officer, who had been awaiting posting, will now take charge as the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Kanchanpur, a vital post to ensure the security and administrative efficacy in the region.

Debabrata Saha, TPS Gr–II, previously serving as the SDPO of Dharmanagar, has been reassigned as the Deputy SP for the West District, where his experience is expected to contribute to managing the region’s law enforcement and crime prevention efforts.

B. Zorinpuiia, TPS Gr–II will now assume the role of SDPO in Dharmanagar, taking over from Debabrata Saha.

Ajoy Debbarma, TPS Gr–II, who had been posted as the SDPO of Udaipur, has been transferred to take charge as the SP of the Tripura State Pollution Control Board (TPCB), an essential post for ensuring environmental law enforcement across the state.

Nirman Das, TPS Gr–II, formerly the SP of Gomati, will now serve as SDPO in Udaipur, a position that will see him coordinate district-level policing efforts.

Bapi Debbarma, TPS Gr–II, has been reassigned from the SDPO post in Gandacherra to the SDPO role in Santirbazar, continuing his contributions to law enforcement in a different jurisdiction.

Sougat Chakma, TPS Gr–II, will be moving in the opposite direction, as he shifts from the SDPO post in Santirbazar to Gandacherra, where he will assume responsibilities in a different policing landscape.

Sutapa Deb, TPS Gr–II, will now head the SP’s office in the Special Branch (SB), transferring from her position as SP in Khowai.

The notification, signed by S.K. Debbarma, Deputy Secretary to the Government of Tripura, highlights the dynamic nature of administrative assignments within the state’s police force, with the aim of ensuring optimal law enforcement across diverse regions.

This reshuffle follows an earlier notification issued on Saturday, which saw the transfer of 19 police officers with immediate effect, underlining the state’s commitment to efficient and responsive policing.
