Gandhinagar: A special committee tasked with evaluating the need for a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Gujarat and drafting the proposed legislation held a courtesy meeting with Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in Gandhinagar. The committee is chaired by retired Supreme Court judge Ranjana Desai and comprises five distinguished members from diverse backgrounds.

During the meeting, Chairperson Ranjana Desai briefed the Chief Minister on the committee’s ongoing work and initial findings regarding the Uniform Civil Code. The meeting also saw the presence of Law Minister Mr. Rushikesh Patel and Minister of State for Home Mr. Harsh Sanghavi, who engaged with the committee members on critical legal and social issues related to the UCC.
