Tokyo, Japan: During the Uttar Pradesh Investment Roadshow in Tokyo, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced the development of a 500-acre Japan Industrial City along the Yamuna Expressway in Greater Noida. The project is seen as a major step toward transforming Uttar Pradesh into a $1 trillion economy.
Integrated Township Designed for Japanese Investors
The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has earmarked 500 acres in Sector-5A, Greater Noida, for this industrial township. Key features include:
- 70% of land reserved for industrial use to host manufacturing, logistics, and technology units.
- 30% for residential, commercial, and institutional facilities.
- Infrastructure and amenities designed to suit Japanese professionals, ensuring a comfortable work and living environment.
CM Yogi highlighted that the integrated township will combine modern industrial facilities with a cultural-friendly environment for Japanese experts, making it a global business destination.
Target Sectors and Strategic Opportunities
During high-level meetings in Tokyo, the CM engaged with representatives from Mitsui & Co., Konoike Transport, and JETRO, focusing on key sectors:
- Renewable Energy
- Semiconductors and Electronics
- Data Centers
- Logistics Parks
- Medical Device Manufacturing
The upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar and the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) will provide Japanese companies with seamless access to global supply chains.
Boosting Investment, Technology, and Employment
CM Yogi emphasized that the Japan Industrial City will:
- Attract substantial foreign investment into Uttar Pradesh.
- Generate thousands of local employment opportunities.
- Combine Japanese technology with skilled local labor, transforming the industrial landscape of the state.
The announcement is expected to strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s position as a prime investment hub in India and deepen India-Japan industrial collaboration.
