Strong Coordination and Transparency Essential for Development
The meeting saw participation from public representatives and senior officials from the Public Works Department (PWD), tourism, and culture departments. The main focus was to ensure that the pace and quality of development projects meet the priorities and expectations of local communities.
Yogi Adityanath stressed the need for robust coordination between departments and local representatives. He noted that the state government is providing dedicated financial support to municipal bodies and is driving comprehensive urban development through the Chief Minister Grid Scheme.
The Chief Minister instructed officials to actively involve local representatives in project reviews, maintain transparency, and incorporate their suggestions to enhance accountability. Special attention was given to the development of newly urbanized rural areas within municipal limits, ensuring essential infrastructure like drinking water supply, drainage, and roads is swiftly completed without compromising the identity of villages.
Infrastructure Upgrades to Improve Connectivity and Safety
Yogi Adityanath outlined plans to improve road connectivity by connecting district headquarters with four-lane roads and block headquarters with at least two-lane roads at the earliest possible time. He urged all departments to identify and address accident-prone spots immediately through coordinated efforts.
A significant step was announced to widen state roads from 3.5 meters to 5 meters, aimed at enhancing traffic safety, speeding up emergency response, and improving connectivity between urban and rural areas.
The tourism and culture department was tasked with identifying and developing at least one tourist site in every assembly constituency to boost regional tourism and cultural heritage.
Integration with National Infrastructure Initiatives
The CM mentioned that bridge construction projects in the state are aligned with the Pradhan Mantri Gati Shakti Yojana, a national initiative designed to coordinate infrastructure development for faster execution and better financial utilization.
He emphasized that not only the Public Works Department but all departments should engage with public representatives during project planning to address actual local problems effectively.
Faster Project Execution and Greater Public Accountability
Yogi Adityanath instructed officials to expedite tender processes and conduct foundation-laying ceremonies post-monsoon with active participation from public representatives. This approach aims to speed up project implementation and strengthen public accountability.
The Chief Minister also urged elected representatives to maintain constant communication with their constituents, keep them informed about ongoing projects, and relay their concerns to the government for timely resolution.
