Orai, Jalaun: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a massive development push in Orai, unveiling and laying foundation stones for projects worth ₹1,824.57 crore. The initiative aims to accelerate growth across infrastructure, healthcare, education, irrigation, and urban connectivity in the Bundelkhand region.
The Chief Minister arrived in Orai by helicopter at around 3:10 PM, landing at the police lines and proceeding by road to Indira Stadium, where a grand public function was held. During the event, a short documentary on the Nun River development project was screened, reflecting the government’s focus on water resource management.
Projects Inaugurated: Focus on Infrastructure and Public Services
CM Yogi dedicated to the public 165 completed projects costing ₹507.57 crore. These projects span across key government departments and sectors, including:
- Roads and bridges under the Public Works Department and State Bridge Corporation
- Electricity infrastructure upgrades via UPPCL and Power Transmission Corporation
- Tourism and urban development projects in towns like Orai, Kalpi, and Jalaun
- Housing, water supply, and police infrastructure improvements
- Village-level development initiatives through Rural Development and Rural Engineering departments
- Irrigation and agriculture support projects via the Minor Irrigation Department
These completed works are expected to significantly enhance public infrastructure and improve the quality of life in the region.
Foundation Stones Laid for Future Projects Worth ₹1,317 Crore
In addition to inaugurations, the Chief Minister laid the foundation for around 140 new projects, amounting to ₹1,317 crore in investments. These upcoming works will include:
- Expansion of road and transport infrastructure
- Strengthening of power and transmission systems
- Urban amenities like water supply, housing, and waste management
- Promotion of industrial infrastructure under UPSIDC
- Projects targeting small towns and Nagar Panchayats, ensuring balanced development
Major departments involved in the upcoming projects include PWD, UPPCL, Jal Nigam, UPSIDC, DUDA, and Housing & Development Board.
Driving Development in Bundelkhand
Addressing the gathering, CM Yogi emphasized the government’s commitment to bringing inclusive and sustainable development to every corner of Uttar Pradesh. He stated that the projects launched today will lay a strong foundation for regional prosperity, improved rural-urban integration, and better public service delivery.
The development spree in Jalaun is part of the broader vision of transforming Bundelkhand into a thriving and self-reliant region, aligned with the state’s roadmap for Viksit Bharat 2047.
