The Uttar Pradesh government on March 12, 2025, approved the voluntary retirement (VRS) application of Mr. Ashish Gupta, a 1989-batch Uttar Pradesh cadre IPS officer.
Mr. Gupta, currently serving as Director General, Rules & Manuals, was the second senior-most IPS officer in the cadre. He had 22 months remaining before his scheduled retirement in December 2026.
His VRS approval marks the end of a distinguished career, during which he held several key positions in law enforcement and administration.
