In a major push to accelerate industrial development and job creation, the Government of Uttar Pradesh has announced the construction of a flatted factory in Greater Noida with an estimated investment of Rs. 125 crore. The initiative is aimed at supporting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by providing them with modern, high-quality industrial infrastructure within a vertical, space-efficient complex.

YEIDA’s Flagship Project

According to an official release, the upcoming flatted factory will be developed on a 38,665 square metre plot located in Sector 28 of Greater Noida in Gautam Buddha Nagar district. The project will be executed by the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), which has already begun preparatory activities, including finalising the master plan and related documentation. The construction is expected to be completed within two years.

A flatted factory is a multi-storey industrial building that houses several independent manufacturing units, each operating autonomously for activities like production, assembly, and storage. These structures are particularly beneficial in urban and industrial zones where horizontal space is limited, offering a cost-effective and efficient solution for small businesses.

Essential Utilities & Infra Made Available

The new facility will feature all essential utilities and infrastructure required for industrial operations, including assured power and water supply, elevators, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems, and advanced fire safety mechanisms. These amenities aim to create a plug-and-play industrial environment that allows businesses to commence operations with minimal setup time.

Officials stated that the flatted factory model presents a strategic solution to support industrial growth in high-demand regions and aligns with the state’s broader industrial policy. The initiative is expected to attract new investments, provide modern workspaces for start-ups, and create job opportunities—especially for the youth.

This development is a part of Uttar Pradesh’s comprehensive strategy to establish itself as a major economic powerhouse. The government has set an ambitious goal of transforming the state into a Rs. 1 lakh crore economy by fostering the growth of MSMEs along with large-scale industries.

“The flatted factory will act as a catalyst for regional economic activity and make it easier for small businesses to set up and expand. It not only boosts industrial efficiency but also strengthens the MSME ecosystem, which plays a crucial role in employment generation and economic resilience,” read the official statement.

Once operational, the facility is expected to be a game-changer for the industrial landscape of Greater Noida and the surrounding regions, offering a scalable model for future urban industrial development across the state.
