Mr. Deepak Meena, a 2011-batch IAS officer from Rajasthan, has been appointed as the District Magistrate (DM) of Ghaziabad, succeeding Mr. Indra Vikram Singh (2010-batch IAS officer). He will officially assume charge on Saturday.
Mr. Meena, who previously served as Meerut DM since April 2022, brings extensive administrative experience to his new role. During his career, he has held key positions, including joint magistrate in Azamgarh, Saharanpur, and Aligarh, and chief development officer in districts like Agra and Saharanpur.
Born on July 15, 1986, Mr. Meena holds a BTech degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur. Before joining the civil services, he briefly worked at Tata Steel. After clearing the UPSC examination in 2011, he underwent training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie.
Speaking about his priorities, Mr. Meena emphasized the efficient implementation of government welfare schemes at the grassroots level. He also highlighted his focus on ongoing infrastructure projects, including the nearly completed RRTS, traffic management, and urban development in Ghaziabad.
