In a major developmental push for enhancing police leadership in Uttar Pradesh, 23 trainee IPS officers met senior officials at Lok Bhavan and Police Headquarters on Wednesday. The sessions emphasized field responsiveness, professional discipline, and citizen-friendly policing—critical components in shaping the next generation of police leaders.
Principal Secy Sanjay Prasad Underscores Field Presence and Courteous Policing
During the interaction at Lok Bhavan, Principal Secretary Home, Mr. Sanjay Prasad (IAS), advised trainee IPS officers to personally visit the scene even in minor incidents. He stressed that timely presence prevents escalation and fosters confidence among citizens.
Mr. Prasad also highlighted the importance of courteous behavior during public hearings and encouraged officers to practice punctuality and adopt a transparent, empathetic communication style. These measures, he noted, have a direct impact on strengthening the image of the police in Uttar Pradesh.

The session was also attended by ADG Training Mr. B. D. Palson, Special Secretary Home Mr. Rakesh Kumar Malpani, Mr. Mahendra, and Ms. Manjulata Singh, reflecting the administrative emphasis on nurturing responsible, proactive policing.

At Police Headquarters, DGP Mr. Rajiv Krishna interacted extensively with the trainee officers, urging them to engage more with citizens and patiently listen to their concerns. He highlighted continuous learning and open-mindedness as essential qualities for police officers in a rapidly evolving governance landscape.
He advised them to guard their professional image as if it were their life, calling it their most valuable asset in service. Clarity of vision and strong decision-making, he added, are the defining traits of an exemplary police leader.
