Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ayush and MoS for Health and Family Welfare Prataprao Jadhav, along with Dr. Ajay Kumar, Chairman, Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), inaugurated a new Ayurveda Clinic at the UPSC premises today. The facility, set up by the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), will cater to the healthcare needs of UPSC officers, staff, and their families.
The new initiative follows the model of similar AYUSH-based healthcare facilities established in prestigious institutions such as the Supreme Court of India, IIT Delhi, and Safdarjung Hospital, underscoring the government’s commitment to expanding the reach of traditional medicine.
Ayurveda for Holistic Wellness
Speaking on the occasion, UPSC Chairman Dr. Ajay Kumar emphasized India’s rich heritage in Ayurveda and its relevance in addressing modern health challenges. He noted that the clinic will complement UPSC’s ongoing wellness initiatives, including Yoga and stress management workshops, and will promote preventive healthcare and holistic living among employees.
Highlighting UPSC’s observance of International Yoga Day earlier this year, Dr. Kumar said the integration of Yoga and Ayurveda offers effective tools for enhancing workplace health and productivity.
