WCL Inaugurates AMRIT Pharmacy at Nagpur HQ to Provide Affordable Medicines to Employees and Public

Nagpur: In a significant step toward strengthening employee welfare and public healthcare, Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) inaugurated an AMRIT Pharmacy at its Nagpur Headquarters under the Dispensary Management System (DMS) initiative.

Inauguration Ceremony Led by Top Leadership

The pharmacy was officially inaugurated by Mr. J.P. Dwivedi, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, WCL, in a grand ceremony. The event was attended by:

  • Mr. Bikram Ghosh, Director (Finance)
  • Mr. Anandji Prasad, Director Technical (Operations & P&P)
  • Dr. Hemant Sharad Pande, Director (HR)
  • Mr. Ajay Madhukar Mhetre, Chief Vigilance Officer
  • Steering Committee Members, Welfare Board Representatives, HODs, and a large number of employees.

What is AMRIT Pharmacy?

Operated by HLL Lifecare Limited, AMRIT (Affordable Medicines and Reliable Implants for Treatment) is a Government of India initiative that provides:

  • Branded life-saving medicines
  • Generic drugs
  • Surgical implants
    — all at heavily discounted rates.

The facility ensures timely access to quality medical supplies for WCL staff and also serves the general public, supporting community health.

Expansion Plans for Wider Reach

To further extend the benefits of affordable healthcare, WCL announced that two more AMRIT Pharmacies will soon be set up in its:

  • Pathakhera Area
  • Chandrapur Area

These additions aim to replicate the Nagpur model and enhance healthcare accessibility across WCL’s operational zones.

Aligning with Government’s Healthcare Vision

This move by WCL aligns with the central government’s vision of accessible and affordable healthcare for all and strengthens WCL’s commitment to employee well-being and public service.
