New Delhi: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Tuesday declared the results of Civil Services Exam-2024. Prayagraj’s Shakti Dubey has topped the prestigious exam. Harshita Goyal and Dongre Archit Parag are second and third, respectively.

A total of 1009 candidates have been recommended for appointment through the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024. Of these, 335 candidates belong to the General category, 109 to the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), 318 to the Other Backward Classes (OBC), 160 to the Scheduled Castes (SC), and 87 to the Scheduled Tribes (ST).

Among the Top 25 candidates, 11 women and 14 men

Three girls have secured positions in the Top 5 of the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024, with a total of four girls making it to the Top 10. According to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), this year’s toppers hold degrees in Engineering, Humanities, Science, Commerce, Medical Science, and Architecture, and have graduated from premier institutions such as IITs, NITs, VIT, JNU, Delhi University, and Allahabad University.

Of these, 1,009 candidates – comprising 725 men and 284 women – have been recommended by the Commission for appointment to various civil services, which is less than last years 1016 selected candidates.

45 Candidates Selected from Divyang Category

This year, a total of 45 candidates have been selected under the Divyang (PwBD) category. Among them, 12 candidates fall under PwBD-1 (Visually Impaired), 8 candidates under PwBD-2 (Hearing Impaired), 16 candidates under PwBD-3 (Movement Impairment), and 9 candidates under PwBD-5 (Other Disabilities).

UPSC Civil Services Final Result 2024: Key Dates and Overview

Top 25 successful candidates have opted for subjects like Anthropology, Chemistry, Geography, Economics, Electrical Engineering, Law, History, Mathematics, Physics, Political Science & International Relations and Sociology as their optional choice in the Written (Main) Examination.

The prestigious UPSC CSE-2024 preliminary exam was held on June 16, 2024, and whose results were declared on July 1, 2024, were eligible to appear for the main exam. The main examination for CSE 2024 was held earlier in September, with candidates taking the exam in two shifts on September 20, 21, 22, 28, and 29, 2024. The first shift ran from 9 AM to 12 noon, and the second from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. The exam covered a total of seven papers, starting with Paper I and ending with Paper VI and Paper VII. The result for the main examination was officially announced on December 9, 2024.

The Interview round conducted in three phases, which began on Janaury 07, 2025 were concluded on April 17, 2025. The candidates divided into two sessions daily – one in the morning at 9 AM and the other in the afternoon at 1 PM.

More than 9 Lakhs Candidates Appeared for UPSC 2024 Exam

The UPSC Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2024 was conducted on June 16, 2024. Out of 9,92,599 applicants, a total of 5,83,213 candidates appeared for the exam.

Following the preliminary stage, 14,627 candidates qualified for the Main Examination, which was held in September 2024. From these, 2,845 candidates were shortlisted for the Personality Test (Interview) round.

Step 2: On the homepage, click on Final Result – Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2024 link available on the home page

Step 3: The final result in the pdf format will appear on the screen

Step 4: Check the Result and Roll number and download the page, For search Press keyboard shortcut Ctrl + F & search your name or roll number

Step 5: Qualified candidates can keep a hard copy of the same for further need

The recommended candidates also include 30 Persons with Benchmark Disability (16 Orthopedically Handicapped, 06 Visually Challenged, 05 Hearing Impaired & 03 Multiple Disabilities).

Recruitment Details

The 2024 UPSC Civil Services Examination is set to fill a total of 1,056 vacancies across various government departments. This recruitment drive will select candidates for prestigious positions in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Indian Foreign Service (IFS), among others.

This year, out of 1,056 total vacancies, 37 are reserved for candidates under the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) category. The breakdown includes 180 vacancies for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), 200 for the Indian Police Service (IPS), 37 for the Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and 295 for the Indian Revenue Service (IRS). Additionally, there are 150 vacancies for the newly introduced Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS).

The application process for this year’s examination began on February 14, 2024, and concluded on March 5, 2024. Candidates who registered successfully were then eligible to appear for the preliminary exam and subsequent stages.

The UPSC Civil Services Examination is one of the most prestigious and toughest examinations in India, conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to recruit suitable candidates for 21 civil services of India including IAS, IPS, IFS, and other allied services.
