The Curious Case of 2 Ayashas Baffles UPSC

Ayasha vs Ayasha UPSC Case: Who will become IAS? Two aspirants selected on same roll number.
Indian Masterminds Stories

A bizarre case of identity crisis has appeared before the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) that declared the result of UPSC Civil Services-2022 exam on 23rd of May. Among the 933 successful candidates selected for various administrative services this year, there are two girls who claim to be selected on the same roll number, with a common first-named ‘Ayasha‘.

This surprise popped up among the result from Madhya Pradesh. It is being claimed that two girls on the same roll number gave the exam and interview and now both have got 184th rank. The candidates are Ayasha Fatima of Dewas and Ayasha Makrani of Alirajpur.

Going by the UPSC Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2022 Final Result pdf, the admit card of the candidate mentions roll number — 7811744. It is reported that both candidates have appeared for the examination and interview rounds held by the Commission.

Whose claim is true, it will be known only after a proper investigation, but there is celebration at both homes. The admit cards of both are being circulated on social media.

There are some mistakes seems visible in the admit card of Alirajpur’s Ayasha. Firstly, there is a water mark of UPSC on the admit card of Dewas’s Ayasha, while the admit card of Alirajpur’s Ayasha looks like a print out on plain paper.

While there is a QR code in the admit card of Ayasha of Dewas, which on scanning shows the same information as written in the admit card. There is no QR code in the admit card of Ayasha of Alirajpur.

In the admit card of Alirajpur’s Ayasha Makrani, the date of personality test is April 25 and the day was mentioned as Thursday. On the other hand, on the card of Ayasha Fatima of Dewas, the date of personality test was April 25, but the day was Tuesday.

In reality, 25th April was a Tuesday. While Ayasha of Dewas is confident about her achievement, the other one is complaining of fraud.

PERSONAL DETAILS

Ayasha Fatima has studied up to 11th from Vindhyachal School, Dewas and passed 12th from Model Public School. Ayasha’s father Naziruddin Sheikh is a government teacher and mother is a school director. Ayasha is their second daughter. She passed JEE exam to become an engineer and graduated from SGSITS College, Indore in Electrical branch.

However, she said, “I had a desire to do something big, so I started preparing for UPSC.” After three initial failures in UPSC, Ayasha got what she had waited so long for. Now Ayasha will become IPS.

Ayasha Makrani’s brother, Shahbazuddin Makrani said that his sister qualified UPSC with mathematics as optional. If UPSC’s decision is in favour of her, the 23-year-old candidate will clear the examination in her first attempt.

Naziruddin, the father of Ayasha Fatima of Dewas, also claimed that his daughter had been selected. He said that UPSC cannot make such a mistake. I demand a thorough inquiry in the matter. The truth should come to the fore.

However, the matter is yet to be resolved, both the families are having reasons for rejoicing. While it seems impossible that UPSC would issue the same roll number to two candidates. So one og them must be a fake.
