Dehradun: The Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC) will conduct the PCS Preliminary Examination 2025 on Saturday, June 29. With heavy rainfall, ongoing Chardham Yatra, and peak tourist activity across several districts, the commission has issued an advisory urging candidates to plan their travel well in advance.
In a public notice, Commission Secretary Girdhari Singh Rawat warned that monsoon rains may disrupt traffic, especially in hilly districts. Additionally, Haridwar, Roorkee, and Rishikesh may experience severe traffic congestion over the weekend due to the religious and tourism season.
Advisory Highlights
- Candidates are strongly advised to reach exam centres before time to avoid delays caused by weather or traffic.
- The first shift of the examination will take place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and the second shift will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
- Admit cards are available for download on the UKPSC’s official website.
Weather and Travel Disruption Expected
The monsoon has already set in across Uttarakhand, and rain-induced landslides or roadblocks are common during this time in hilly regions. The commission’s advisory aims to help candidates avoid missing their exams due to unpredictable travel conditions.
Candidates travelling from other states or remote parts of Uttarakhand are advised to arrive a day earlier if possible, and to keep a close watch on local weather and traffic alerts.
