State Tourism and Culture Minister Mr. Jaiveer Singh shared details of the projects, emphasizing their dual purpose of preserving heritage and creating employment opportunities. “These developments will not only attract more visitors to Badaun, Kaushambi, Pratapgarh, and Bijnor districts but also generate livelihoods for local communities, ultimately strengthening the state’s economy,” Mr. Singh stated.
The approved projects include:
- Rs 57.31 lakh for beautification and facility upgrades at Badaun’s historic Kuru Khera Siddha Baba temple
- Rs 55.70 lakh for tourism development at Kaushambi’s Ashwaghosh Buddhist Vihar, an important site in Buddhist heritage that attracts international pilgrims
- Rs 57.40 lakh for infrastructure improvements around Pratapgarh’s Dahindevi Dham and Sandwa Chandrika temple
- Rs 75.74 lakh for the rejuvenation of Bijnor’s ancient Shiva temple in Fatehpur village
According to Mr. Singh, the development works will encompass comprehensive upgrades including beautification, construction of shade structures, drinking water facilities, seating arrangements, and other visitor amenities. “Our goal is to ensure devotees and tourists have a comfortable and fulfilling experience at these spiritually significant sites,” he explained.
Highlighting Uttar Pradesh’s rich cultural legacy, the Minister added, “As a land of profound spirituality and heritage, we are committed to creating welcoming spaces that honor our traditions while meeting modern expectations. These projects reflect our government’s dedication to preserving our past while building a brighter future for tourism in the state.”
The initiatives form part of the state’s broader strategy to position Uttar Pradesh as a premier spiritual tourism destination, capitalizing on its numerous religious sites and historical landmarks to drive sustainable economic growth.
