Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Diwas 2026 will be celebrated as a grand public festival with active participation from every district, showcasing the state’s rich cultural heritage, diverse cuisine, traditional crafts, and development journey. The three-day celebration will be held from January 24 to January 26, 2026, with events organized across the state and the main समारोह (ceremony) scheduled at Rashtra Prerna Sthal, Lucknow.
Amit Shah to Attend as Chief Guest
The presence of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah as the Chief Guest will lend the event a strong national significance. Reviewing the preparations on Wednesday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed officials to ensure that all arrangements are conducted with dignity, discipline, and punctuality, befitting the stature of the occasion.
“Uttar Pradesh Diwas is not merely a ceremonial event, but a powerful opportunity to present the state’s identity, achievements, and future potential with the cooperation of the people,” the Chief Minister said.
Main Ceremony at Rashtra Prerna Sthal, Live Across Districts
The main state-level ceremony will take place at Rashtra Prerna Sthal, Lucknow, and will be telecast live across all districts, enabling people throughout Uttar Pradesh to participate simultaneously in the celebrations. District-level programs will mirror the state event, ensuring wide public engagement.
‘One District–One Cuisine’ to Be Key Highlight
A major attraction of Uttar Pradesh Diwas 2026 will be the ‘One District–One Cuisine’ initiative. Under this concept, signature and traditional dishes from every district will be showcased at a single venue, offering visitors an immersive experience of the state’s diverse culinary heritage and local identities.
This initiative aims to celebrate regional food traditions while promoting local entrepreneurs, self-help groups, and traditional food artisans.
‘Viksit Bharat – Viksit Uttar Pradesh’ Exhibition and Craft Fair
A special exhibition and craft fair themed ‘Viksit Bharat – Viksit Uttar Pradesh’ will be organized during the celebrations. The exhibition will highlight:
- Infrastructure and industrial development
- Agricultural growth and innovation
- Women empowerment initiatives
- Technological advancements
- Progress toward self-reliance
The exhibition will also feature traditional crafts, providing artisans a platform to showcase their work and connect with a wider audience.
Cultural Festivals and Sanskriti Utsav Integration
The Chief Minister directed that cultural programs proposed under Sanskriti Utsav 2025–26 be seamlessly integrated with Uttar Pradesh Diwas celebrations. Emphasizing the theme ‘Our Culture – Our Identity’, he stressed that:
- Folk, classical, and contemporary art forms should be prominently featured
- Proper facilities must be ensured for artists and visitors
- Cultural diversity from all regions of the state must be represented
- Honouring Eminent Personalities from Every District
CM Yogi Adityanath also instructed officials to invite eminent personalities from all districts who have made outstanding contributions in various fields to the main ceremony on January 24. The initiative aims to recognize collective achievements and inspire public pride.
