In a move aimed at enhancing administrative reforms and improving efficiency across key departments, the Uttar Pradesh government appointed several IAS officers, recently promoted to the position of Secretary, to important posts on Tuesday.
2009 batch IAS officer Nitin Bansal, who was previously the State Commercial Tax Commissioner In-charge, has been promoted to the position of Uttar Pradesh Commercial Tax Commissioner.
Bhanu Chandra Goswami, also an IAS officer of 2009 batch, has been appointed as the new State Relief Commissioner, Consolidation Commissioner, and Secretary of the Revenue Department. Prior to this, Goswami held the role of State Relief Commissioner In-charge, Consolidation Commissioner In-Charge, and Special Secretary of the Revenue Department.
2009 batch IAS officer Rakesh Kumar Mishra has also been promoted, taking over as the State Milk Commissioner, after serving as the Milk Commissioner In-Charge. Similarly, Ramakant Pandey (2009 batch) has been entrusted with the role of Managing Director of Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam (Urban), a position he held in an acting capacity before.
In another significant appointment, IAS officer Markande Shahi (2009 batch) has been made the new State Labour Commissioner. His previous role was that of the State Labour Commissioner In-Charge. This appointment is seen as crucial in ensuring the welfare of workers and enforcing compliance with labour laws across the state.
Meanwhile, Avinash Krishna Singh, also an IAS officer of 2009 batch, has been promoted to Director General of Uttar Pradesh Technical Education, after previously serving as the Director General In-Charge. Rajesh Prakash (2009 batch) has been appointed as the Director General of the State Fisheries Department, having previously been in charge of the department on an interim basis.
Additionally, 2010 batch IAS officer Manvendra Singh has been assigned the role of Director General of the State AYUSH Department, a position he held temporarily before.
These strategic appointments are expected to significantly bolster the efficiency of the respective departments.
