Uttarakhand’s commitment to mining reforms is once again paying off—both in national recognition and financial rewards. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the state has secured yet another major incentive grant from the Central Government, reaffirming its position as the fastest-improving state in the mining sector.
The Union Ministry of Mines has sanctioned an additional ₹100 crore to Uttarakhand under the Special Assistance Scheme for Capital Investment (SASCI) for the financial year 2025–26. This latest allocation has been granted in acknowledgment of the state’s performance and reforms in the minor mineral sector.
This is Uttarakhand’s second major incentive in just two months. In October 2025, the state received ₹100 crore for ranking second in the State Mineral Resource Index (SMRI). With the latest financial allocation, Uttarakhand’s total incentive amount for mining reforms has now reached ₹200 crore.
Over the past few years, Uttarakhand has introduced progressive and reform-oriented policies in the mining sector. These sustained efforts have dramatically improved transparency, monitoring, policy implementation, and revenue efficiency—leading the state to achieve the No. 1 position in mining performance across the country.
According to the latest office memorandum issued by the Central Government on 18.11.2025, Uttarakhand has successfully implemented a majority of the mandated mining reform measures. The state has achieved compliance on six out of the seven primary criteria set for minor mineral reforms—an achievement that placed it at the top of the national rankings.
The back-to-back recognition and funding support not only highlight the robustness of mining governance under Chief Minister Dhami’s leadership but also reinforce Uttarakhand’s emergence as a model state in responsible resource management and policy transformation.
