Dehradun: The Union Government has released the second installment of ₹249.56 crore to the state of Uttarakhand under the Special Capital Investment Assistance Scheme 2025-26. The funds were provided by the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, and are expected to accelerate key developmental projects across the state.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Expresses Gratitude
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his gratitude to the central government for the financial support. He stated that the assistance will play a crucial role in strengthening Uttarakhand’s infrastructure, promoting public welfare projects, and creating new employment opportunities. According to the CM, this support marks a significant step towards the economic strengthening of the state.

Focus on Infrastructure and Development Projects
CM Dhami highlighted that the state government, in coordination with the central government, is committed to the holistic development of Uttarakhand. He assured that the received funds would be utilized for capital-intensive projects including roads, bridges, urban and rural infrastructure, drinking water, energy, and other developmental works. The government emphasized transparent, timely, and quality execution of these projects to ensure direct benefits reach the public.
Employment Generation and Economic Boost
The Chief Minister further stated that these projects would not only strengthen economic activities in the state but also promote local employment at various levels. The government is committed to maintaining high-quality standards and avoiding delays in project execution to ensure effective utilization of the funds.
Overall Financial Support to Uttarakhand
So far, for the financial year 2025-26, the central government has provided ₹847.49 crore to Uttarakhand under similar assistance schemes. This financial support is expected to accelerate development initiatives, contributing to the state’s balanced, inclusive, and sustainable growth.
