Dehradun: The main state-level function of the 77th Republic Day was held at the Parade Ground in Dehradun, where Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (Retd.) hoisted the national flag. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was also present at the ceremony.
The event featured colorful tableaux by various government departments, showcasing Uttarakhand’s culture, development, and achievements.
Uttarakhand Committed to Becoming the Best State: Governor
Extending Republic Day greetings to the people of the state, Governor Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh (Retd.) paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, and the architects of the Indian Constitution.
He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is setting new benchmarks in:
- Digital economy
- Startup culture
- Defence production
- Space technology
- Green energy
- Military strength
The Governor stated that Devbhoomi Uttarakhand is actively contributing to India’s development journey.

Rapid Infrastructure and Connectivity Development in Uttarakhand
The Governor highlighted significant progress in:
- Infrastructure development
- Road, rail, and air connectivity
- Digital services
- Investment promotion
He said that strong coordination between the Central and State governments has helped Uttarakhand achieve new milestones of growth.
Uttarakhand Being Developed as Global Spiritual and Wellness Hub
Calling Yoga and Ayurveda the soul of Uttarakhand, the Governor said the state is being developed as a global wellness hub.
He added that Uttarakhand has resolved to become a global center of spirituality.
The Governor also praised the women power of Uttarakhand, saying that women and daughters of the state are excelling in education, armed forces, sports, and entrepreneurship.
Uniform Civil Code Ensures Equality and Safety for Women
The Governor said that through the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), Uttarakhand has provided a legal shield of equality and security to women.
He also mentioned that technology is being widely used in governance, disaster management, healthcare, and education to improve transparency and efficiency.
Republic Day Marks the Celebration of the Constitution: CM Dhami
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami extended Republic Day greetings and paid tribute to freedom fighters, Constitution makers, and statehood movement leaders.
State Fully Committed to Vision of Developed India by 2047
CM Dhami said that the state government is fully committed to fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making India a developed nation by 2047 and to making Uttarakhand the best state in the country.
He recalled PM Modi’s statement calling the third decade of the 21st century as “Uttarakhand’s decade,” which has infused new energy and enthusiasm among the people.
Focus on Public Welfare and Uniform Civil Code
The Chief Minister said that public service is the government’s top priority and that welfare schemes are being delivered to the last person in society.
He highlighted that:
- Uttarakhand has implemented the Uniform Civil Code, setting an example for other states
- Strong steps are being taken to preserve the cultural identity of Devbhoomi
Boost to Religious Tourism and Char Dham Yatra
CM Dhami said that better management of pilgrimage routes and rapid development of tourism infrastructure have led to a continuous rise in the number of devotees visiting Char Dham Yatra.
He also informed that:
- Manaskhand Temple Mala Mission is being implemented to promote religious tourism in Kumaon region
- Winter pilgrimage has been launched to strengthen religious tourism and the state’s economy
Industry-Friendly Policies Attracting Investment
The Chief Minister said that the state is creating an industry-friendly environment through policy reforms to attract investors.
