In a landmark event celebrating academic excellence, Chief Minister Mr. Pushkar Singh Dhami felicitated 75 meritorious students from the Uttarakhand Board who secured top 10 positions in the Class 10 and 12 examinations. Held at the SCERT auditorium, the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Educational Excellence Awards also saw six outstanding schools receive the Chief Minister’s Trophy, certificates of appreciation, and cash awards for their remarkable board results.

Mr. Dhami emphasized that education must go beyond textbooks and focus on values such as patriotism, moral responsibility, social harmony, and practical learning. He reiterated the government’s commitment to building a value-based and future-ready education system.
Strengthening Indian Values Through Digital and Cultural Education
The Chief Minister highlighted various initiatives by the state government to enhance the quality of education. Smart classrooms, digital libraries, and online learning platforms are being developed across government institutions. The state has also introduced a culturally rich book titled “Hamari Virasat” for students from grades 6 to 8 to connect them with India’s heritage, folk traditions, and legendary personalities.
A total of 226 schools are being developed as PM Shri Vidyalayas, while 1,300 schools across all 13 districts are equipped for virtual learning. Furthermore, five PM e-Vidya channels are operating to ensure uninterrupted online education, especially in remote areas.
Financial Aid for Competitive Aspirants and Support for Future Bureaucrats
To encourage success in national-level examinations, the Chief Minister announced financial assistance of Rs. 50,000 for candidates who clear the written stages of the UPSC, NDA, and CDS exams to help them prepare for interviews. This initiative is a significant step towards empowering rural and underprivileged students to compete at the highest levels.
Massive Teacher Recruitment Drive Announced
Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat shared that 2,100 new teaching positions will be filled soon, with necessary amendments being made to existing education regulations. He noted an impressive 18 percent increase in students securing first division in board exams, attributing the success to improved teaching standards and innovative learning tools.
