Dehradun: The Central Government has extended significant additional financial support to Uttarakhand, granting ₹759 crore to strengthen the state’s modern infrastructure and overall economic framework. The assistance includes ₹734 crore for capital investment and ₹25 crore for urban land reforms, aimed at accelerating development projects and improving planned urban growth.

The financial support has been approved by the Ministry of Finance, Government of India, under the Scheme for Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment. The allocation has been made in recognition of Uttarakhand’s timely completion of prescribed financial reforms, reflecting the state’s commitment to fiscal discipline and efficient governance.

Boost to Infrastructure and Urban Development

With this additional allocation, the total financial assistance extended by the Centre to Uttarakhand in the financial year 2025–26 has reached ₹1,806.49 crore. The funds will be utilized for key development initiatives, including the construction and upgradation of roads, bridges, urban infrastructure, public works, and other essential facilities across the state.

The ₹25 crore earmarked specifically for urban land reforms is expected to support planned development in urban areas, enhance transparency in land management, and create a more investment-friendly environment.
