Orders Suspension Over Home Guards Uniform
Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has ordered the immediate suspension of Amitabh Srivastava, Director of Home Guards (Deputy Commandant), after allegations of financial irregularities surfaced in the procurement of uniform materials for the Home Guards and Civil Defence Department.
Joint Inquiry Committee to Investigate Scam
The Chief Minister has also directed the formation of a Joint Inquiry Committee to conduct a detailed investigation into the matter. The probe will focus on the procurement process of uniforms during the financial years 2024-25 and 2025-26, where violations of tender rules and lack of transparency were reported.
Allegations of Irregularities in Tender Process
A report submitted by the Director General of Home Guards and Civil Defence, Dehradun, highlighted significant financial irregularities and violations of prescribed rules during the tendering process. Acting on these recommendations, CM Dhami took swift action to suspend the Deputy Commandant and ensure accountability.
Zero Tolerance Policy Against Corruption
CM Dhami reiterated the state government’s zero-tolerance policy against corruption, emphasizing that strict action will be taken against any officer or employee found guilty. He stated that the government is committed to transparency and integrity at all levels of administration.
CM Dhami at Chintan Shivir: Vision 2047 for Uttarakhand and India
A day before the suspension order, CM Dhami addressed senior administrative officers at the Chintan Shivir and Dialogue on Vision 2047 at the Civil Services Institute. He said a time-bound, practical roadmap would be prepared to make India a developed nation by 2047.
He stressed that Uttarakhand’s development must align with the overall progress of the country, ensuring every state grows at an equal pace. Detailed deliberations on all major sectors will help define a clear vision for the state’s future.
