Uttarakhand is all set to mark the 11th International Yoga Day on June 21 with a grand celebration in Gairsain, the summer capital of the state. The main event will be held at the Bharadisain assembly complex, where Chief Minister Mr. Pushkar Singh Dhami will lead the state’s official Yoga Day programme. Significantly, ambassadors from eight countries will join the Chief Minister in performing yoga, adding an international dimension to the festivities.

Ahead of the event, Mr. Dhami arrived in Bharadisain and was accorded a grand traditional welcome, complete with the vibrant Choliya folk dance and local musical instruments. He was also presented with a copy of the Ramcharitmanas by Chamoli District Magistrate Mr. Sandeep Tiwari (2017-batch IAS officer), symbolising the region’s cultural heritage. The Chief Minister received a guard of honour from the police on his arrival.

Arrangements Made in Grand Scale
As part of the celebrations, thousands of yoga enthusiasts and local residents will gather to participate in a mass yoga demonstration alongside the dignitaries. All arrangements for the large-scale event have been finalised by the state administration.
The participation of foreign diplomats in the event underscores Uttarakhand’s growing global engagement in promoting yoga and its spiritual legacy. With this, the state continues to cement its reputation as a leading destination for yoga and holistic well-being.
