The perpetual terror of frequent wolf attacks in Bahraich is far from over. A 17-year-old girl named Preeti was attacked by a wolf while returning from routine on Saturday night. After attacking the girl, the wolf ran towards the field after seeing the villagers charging at it. Cases of wolf attacks have not extended into areas of Lakhimpur Khen and Mainpuri.

In Lakhimpur Kheri, a six-year-old girl was attacked by a wolf in the Durgapuram area of the Nighasan area of Lakhimpur Kheri while she was sleeping. The incident happened when the six-year-old girl was sleeping in her thatched house, and the wolf caught hold of her in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Another teenager sleeping outside a house on a farm in the Jaramai village of Dannahar police station area of Mainpuri was attacked and injured by a wolf on Saturday night. Villagers stated that a wolf had been seen in the village earlier too. The DFO, Mr. Sanjay Kumar Malla, however, asserted that wolves are not found in this area. Still, the forest department team is investigating the matter.

In another instance, villagers beat a wild jackal to death in Philbhit. The jackal attacked and injured eight people, including two innocents, in two villages of the Jehanabad area, and was surrounded and killed by angry villagers. The video of the jackal being beaten up also went viral on social media. DFO Manish Singh says that after coming to the notice of killing the jackal, a team was sent and investigated. However, no confirmation has yet been made.

In short words, people have descended into a frenzy. A few days ago, some villagers spotted a herd of wolf-like animals in a sugarcane field in the Ainthi Medhaua village of Kaptanganj area. On the information of the villagers, the forest department and police team reached the spot. A long search was carried out, but the animals were not found in the field.
