Following a circular issued by the Department of Personnel and Training, West Bengal Chief Secretary, Mr. BP Gopalika (1989 batch West Bengal cadre IAS), was granted a tenure extension of three months till August 31, 2024. The state government wants him to continue till the conclusion of the Lok Sabha polls and the counting on June 4.
