New Delhi: Western Railway (WR) has achieved its best-ever ticket checking performance during the period from April to October 2025, generating Rs 121.67 crore through the detection of around 19 lakh ticketless and irregular passengers, including cases of unbooked luggage. This represents a 51% increase over last year’s earnings of Rs 80.56 crore and a 14% rise over the Railway Board’s target, according to a press release from WR’s Chief Public Relations Officer, Vineet Abhishek.
Monthly Highlights and Record-Breaking Performance
October 2025 proved to be a remarkable month for Western Railway, recording its second-best monthly earnings of over Rs 24 crore, with the previous best being about Rs 26 crore in May 2022. Notably:
- Ahmedabad Division achieved its best-ever performance with over Rs 4 crore recovered from 50,000 cases in October 2025.
- Headquarter’s Flying Squad recorded a monthly high of Rs 2.20 crore, surpassing the previous best of Rs 2 crore in May 2022.

Record Daily Recoveries Across Divisions
Western Railway also recorded several record-breaking daily recoveries in October 2025:
- Rs 1.40 crore on 17 October 2025 (WR overall)
- Over Rs 38 lakh by Ahmedabad Division on 18 October 2025
- Almost Rs 16 lakh by Ratlam Division on 18 October 2025
- Rs 16.30 lakh by the Headquarter’s Flying Squad on 19 October 2025
These figures highlight the consistent efforts by WR to curb ticketless travel and promote passenger discipline through intensive ticket checking drives across its network.
