All the speculation around the new ‘Chief Secretary of Rajasthan’ has finally come to an end. The Bhajan Lal government has appointed Sudhansh Pant as the New Chief Secretary of Rajasthan. Mr. Pant was working as Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Union Ministry of Health, Delhi on Central Deputation. Rajasthan government sent its recommendation to the Centre which the Appointments Committee of the Union Cabinet approved. After that Mr. Pant has been relieved to go to his parent cadre.
He will replace the current Chief Secretary of Rajasthan Usha Sharma who’s tenure is ending on December 31. She was serving on six months extension.
An IAS officer of 1991 batch Mr. Pant has earlier served as Additional Chief Secretary in PHED (Public Health Engineering Department) in the previous Gehlot government. Before going on central deputation, he served atRevenue Board and then Harish Chandra Mathur Rajasthan State Institute of Public Administration.
He also served in Department of Health during Covid-19. Hailing from Lucknow, Mr. Pant has been the Collector of various district in Rajasthan including Barmer, Jaisalmer, Jhunjhunu, Bhilwara and Jaisalmer. He also served in Jaipur Development Authority and as Principal Secretary in Ministry of Environment (Rajasthan).
