A Timeless Language for a Timely Revival
Celebrated annually on Shravan Purnima, which also marks Raksha Bandhan, Sanskrit Day historically symbolizes the start of academic learning in ancient India. The rituals of Ved recitation, which traditionally begin on this day, reflect Sanskrit’s deep-rooted connection with the Vedic tradition.
Both Central and State Governments are working actively to popularize Sanskrit through digital tools, educational reforms (NEP 2020), and cultural programs, ensuring its relevance and accessibility for future generations.
