Lucknow: A major milestone in the education sector was marked at Jan Bhavan campus in Lucknow, where the newly constructed building of Adarsh Madhyamik Vidyalaya was inaugurated by Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The event highlighted the state’s continued push toward modern, inclusive, and technology-driven education.
New Era for Adarsh Secondary School at Jan Bhavan
The school, originally operating since 1961 within the Raj Bhavan complex, has now been significantly upgraded and expanded. Officials stated that this is not just an infrastructure development but a transformation of the state’s education system toward modernization and excellence.
During the ceremony, the leaders also inaugurated the new school building and handed over a new school bus to ensure better student transport facilities.

‘Hamara Jan Bhavan’ Book Released
On the occasion, the book titled “Hamara Jan Bhavan” was also released, documenting the journey, achievements, and development of the institution over the years. The publication reflects the evolution of the school and its role in shaping quality education.
Modern Facilities: AI Lab, Computer Lab, and Smart Classrooms
The newly constructed building features:
- 14 well-equipped classrooms
- Computer laboratory
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) lab
- Modern digital learning infrastructure
These facilities aim to provide students with both traditional learning and advanced technological education, preparing them for future challenges.

Operation Kayakalp Transforming Government Schools
Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the success of the “Operation Kayakalp” initiative, which has significantly improved infrastructure in government schools across Uttar Pradesh.
The program has ensured basic facilities such as clean drinking water, toilets, electricity, furniture, and better sanitation in schools, transforming their learning environment.
School Chalo Abhiyan Boosts Enrollment
The government’s “School Chalo Abhiyan” has played a key role in increasing student enrollment and reducing dropout rates. Officials noted that more children are now joining government schools, improving inclusivity in education.

Focus on Girls’ Education and KGBV Upgradation
A major highlight of the initiative is the upgradation of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs) from Class 8 to Class 12, benefiting 746 girls’ schools across the state.
The government aims to ensure that every block has at least one school offering education up to Class 12 for girls, strengthening women empowerment through education.
Learning by Doing Under NEP 2021
Aligned with the National Education Policy 2021, the state is promoting the “Learning by Doing” approach, encouraging practical and experiential learning. This method helps students gain real-world skills along with theoretical knowledge.
CM Yogi Emphasizes Discipline and Education for Future Leaders
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that education is the foundation of a strong society and emphasized that every child must be given equal opportunity to succeed. He said that students from such institutions could become future scientists, innovators, and nation-builders.
He also highlighted that hard work is the only path to success and encouraged students to stay focused on their goals.

The Uttar Pradesh government reiterated its commitment to strengthening the education system through continuous reforms, infrastructure development, and skill-based learning.
