Balrampur: During his visit to the Devi Patan Temple in Balrampur, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath immediately swung into action following reports of an explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort. Despite being 160 km away from the state headquarters and close to the Indo-Nepal border, the CM conducted a series of urgent virtual meetings with top officials to ensure security preparedness across Uttar Pradesh.
Immediate Virtual Review from Devi Patan Temple
As soon as information about the Delhi blast reached him through the Director General of Intelligence, CM Yogi Adityanath convened an emergency virtual review meeting with the Director General of Police (DGP), Chief Secretary, and senior intelligence officials.
He instructed them to strengthen security across the state, particularly in Ayodhya, Kashi (Varanasi), and Mathura — cities with high religious and strategic significance.
Security Tightened in Key Temple Cities
Citing potential connections between the Delhi incident and Uttar Pradesh, CM Yogi directed that “impenetrable” security arrangements be put in place around major temples and religious sites.
District Magistrates (DMs) and Commissioners of Kashi, Mathura, and Ayodhya were instructed to personally visit key locations and oversee the heightened security operations.
High Alert Declared Across Uttar Pradesh
All 75 districts were placed on high alert. The CM ordered district police chiefs (SPs) to conduct intensive checking drives and maintain strong surveillance at sensitive spots.
He stressed that “under no circumstances should there be any lapse in security” and that entry to temples should only be permitted after thorough checks of all visitors and vehicles.
Constant Monitoring and Coordination
CM Yogi Adityanath remained in contact with officials late into the night, receiving real-time updates on every step taken. Around midnight, he again held a virtual review with the DGP, Chief Secretary, and intelligence agencies, reviewing feedback on the ground situation and ensuring all directives were being implemented promptly.
Visit for Religious Event Turns into Security Command Center
The Chief Minister had arrived at Devi Patan Temple to pay homage to the late Mahant and participate in a Sant Sammelan (spiritual congregation). However, after learning of the Delhi blast, the temple premises effectively turned into a command center for state-level security operations.
Strong Message on Vigilance
Emphasizing the importance of preparedness, CM Yogi Adityanath directed that security forces remain on active mode, particularly in border areas and around religious sites. He reiterated that ensuring the safety of devotees and maintaining peace across Uttar Pradesh is the government’s top priority.
