Varanasi: During his two-day visit to Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted a detailed review of development projects, construction works, and law and order. The CM emphasized improved management at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, faster progress on ghat construction, proper implementation of the AMRUT-2 scheme, and strict action against illegal activities.
Enhanced Management at Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Ghats
CM Yogi instructed officials to ensure no harassment of devotees by police at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple and to prevent any complaints of disorder within the temple premises. He emphasized that religious sites are centers of faith, not commercial gain, and directed improvements in crowd management and policing.
Key directives included:
- Ensuring easy access for devotees to shops in the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor
- Setting fair prices for items sold
- Accelerating construction at Manikarnika Ghat and Harishchandra Ghat with increased manpower
- Preserving historical heritage during construction around ghats and temples
- Improving passenger management at the Godowlia ropeway station

Focus on AMRUT-2, Water Supply, and Sewerage Systems
The CM instructed officials to monitor the AMRUT-2 scheme projects closely, ensuring timely completion of sewerage and water supply works. Additional directives included:
- Prioritizing repair of damaged roads
- Maintaining reasonable ropeway fares for citizens
- Enhancing city cleanliness using machines
- Developing organized vending zones, Kanha Upvan, and street dog centers
- Completing Dalmau Road widening with fair compensation
- Underground cabling of electrical wires as per standards
- Ensuring adequate drinking water supply during summer
Strict Measures Against Illegal Activities
CM Yogi made it clear that:
- Religious events should only occur within temple premises
- No new traditions should be permitted
- Use of high-decibel silencers and pressure horns is banned
- Encroachments and unorganized parking on roads are prohibited
- Schools must promote traffic awareness among children
- Strong action will be taken against illegal sale of Codeine cough syrup and toxic liquor
- Police personnel involved in illegal activities will face strict action
Revenue, Public Grievances, and Business Coordination
The CM instructed officers to:
- Resolve pending revenue cases efficiently
- Conduct regular public grievance hearings
- Organize business and industry meetings at district and commissionerate levels to ensure quick issue resolution
Gym Inspections and Female Trainer Requirement
CM Yogi also directed:
- Inspection of all gyms
- Mandatory availability of female trainers
- Maintaining strict law and order ahead of Holi and other upcoming festivals
- Regular meetings to ensure road safety and public security
Officials Present Updates on Development Projects
During the meeting at Circuit House Auditorium, officials including Divisional Commissioner S. Rajlingam, District Magistrate Satyendra Kumar, and Police Commissioner Mohit Agarwal presented updates on development projects, law and order, cybercrime, and traffic management.
