Mohali: Punjab is set to host the country’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tower, a landmark project aimed at making the state a hub for AI-based industries. The ambitious tower will operate under Expo City Mohali and is expected to house around 300 domestic and international AI companies, generating thousands of employment opportunities for local youth.

Strategic Location Near Chandigarh Airport

The AI Tower will be developed near Chandigarh International Airport on 183.5 acres of land spanning the villages of Radda, Dhamala, Shafipur, and Laddiyali. The project will not only focus on software development, but also on AI-driven hardware, chip manufacturing, smart devices, and advanced technology products, establishing Punjab as a national and global leader in AI innovation.

Employment Opportunities Across AI Sectors

The project is expected to create jobs for a wide range of professionals, including:

  • Engineers
  • Data scientists
  • Software developers
  • Research analysts
  • Cybersecurity specialists
  • Drone technology experts

Punjab’s government highlights that this initiative will provide local youth with high-quality employment opportunities, reducing the need for migration to other states.

Innovative Land Pooling Policy for Landowners

To facilitate development, the government has introduced a special land pooling policy, offering landowners commercial plots of approximately 800 sq yards per acre instead of traditional acquisition. This ensures that landowners benefit directly from the project while enabling smooth implementation.

High-Level Oversight Committee Formed

A high-level committee of officials has been constituted to monitor the project, ensuring timely execution and quality standards. The government believes that this initiative will position Punjab as a leading AI hub, fostering innovation, research, and global recognition in emerging technologies.

Punjab’s Leap Towards a Global AI Hub

With the establishment of India’s first AI Tower, Punjab aims to become a national and international center for AI industries, promoting technology-driven economic growth and creating thousands of skilled jobs. This landmark project reflects the state government’s commitment to modernization, innovation, and youth empowerment.
