Popular Mumbai-based publisher of Indian comics and graphic novels, Amar Chitra Katha (ACK Comics) recently released a webcomic depicting the life, journey, and achievements of Tamil Nadu’s Forest Range Officer Mr. S Sathish.
The officer has been working extremely hard for years to conserve and protect the marine and wildlife of the country. He went out of his way to protect thousands of marine animal species when he was posted in the Gulf of Mannar.
His achievements include bringing down organized crime of poaching sea cucumbers, saving the Olive Ridley Turtles, safeguarding sea cows, organizing underwater plastic clean-ups, and growing 100 acres of mangrove forest.
For his achievements, the officer was also honoured with the prestigious ‘International Ranger Award’ by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, along with several other awards.
