In West Bengal, Durga Puja brings out the best in people, be it the public or the police
As West Bengal celebrated Durga Puja, the biggest festival of the state, police had to be on high alert to ensure no untoward incidents occur. While families were busy in pandal hopping dressed in festival attire, the police personnel were on duty as usual ensuring that the public enjoy their time with their loved ones safely. These police personnel also have families waiting for them at home but duty always comes first for them.
Hence, it was nice to see puja revellers going up to the police personnel and giving them prasad/flowers. A video shared by West Bengal Police showed the happiness and surprise on the faces of the personnel on duty when a stranger walks up to them and offers them something with gratitude for their selfless service. This is called spreading love. Such small act of kindness can lighten up the most tired soul. Watch the heart-warming video here:
Even they deserve a smile too!

Another beautiful Durga Puja video was shared by senior IAS officer Supriya Sahu on X. It shows a Bengali woman, dressed in traditional Puja attire, performing the famous Dhunuchi dance for Ma Durga, in front of an enthralled audience. Watch her move to the rhythmic beats of dhaks (drums) to understand why the audience were left mesmerised by the performance.
That time of the year when Durga Puja pandals reverberate with the sounds of dhak (drums) and people dance before Ma Durga performing the Dhunuchi Naach decked up in colourful clothes balancing clay bowls.
