1992 batch IPS officer Rupin Sharma, who is currently DGP Nagaland, has shared a beautiful video of a dog’s joyful dance in the rain. Tweeting the video, he wrote: “Sawaan… A dog in Guwahati went berserk after a downpour brought relief for everyone from the long and unbearable spell of heat wave yesterday.”
Guwahati in Assam had been reeling under sweltering heat for the last couple of weeks. Hence, a shower brought in some quick relief for the city dwellers, already much distressed by heat, humidity and dust.
However, not just humans, even the animals seemed greatly relieved by the spell of rain. The video that the IPS officer has shared captures this.
In it, man’s best friend – dog – is seen enjoying the sudden downpour to the fullest. The local dog is seen jumping up and down in sheer joy in what seems like a flooded stretch, splashing in the waters, and even trying to catch the rain drops in his mouth.
Such abandon celebration of rain is not so common in humans. Although we would want to, inhibitions often keep us away from giving vent to our emotions spontaneously. Hence, this video has touched a chord in the heart of everyone who has watched it, and has already had 8,427 views till now.
