UPSC is a serious affair. Not for the happy-go-lucky ones. One needs to be able to have long hours of intimacy with books and be prepared for a long relationship with studies. At the same time, one should be strong enough to experience failures and rise above them to take the relationship to its logical end – cracking the UPSC exam. If you think this is too much for you, you should have a look at the criteria one UPSC aspirant has put up for a ‘girlfriend’.
Ex civil servant and UPSC mentor Anurag Tripathi posted the picture of a notice pasted on a wall in UPSC aspirants’ hub Mukherjee Nagar. While posting it, Mr. Tripathi wrote: “I found nothing objectionable and worrisome in this, except the English. Unsolicited advice: Dude! Focus first on UPSC English Compulsory paper.”
The notice, that seems to be pasted on a wall, reads, “A need urgent girl friend,” in loud letters in red. Then, eight criteria are given as qualifications to pass the test to become the ‘girlfriend’. The required qualifications for UPSC will pale in comparison to these ‘qualifications’ required of a girl to become the ‘girlfriend’ of supposedly an UPSC aspirant! Read it to believe it. Do not miss the red underlined words (read keywords)!
